Climate: Tropical and subtropical; dry season is usually from December to April (with March and April being the hottest) and the rainy season from May to November. Costa Rica's weather is influenced by altitude, with the highland regions being generally cooler. Expect the regions bordering the Atlantic coast to be rainy about 300 days in a year, while the regions bordering the Pacific coast is much drier. Typical temperature in San Jose ranges from its summer high of 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 57-60 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter periods.
